Relapse

Crying,

You can't take it anymore.

Rummaging around,

Searching, finding something.

As the blade slips across your arm you cry,

Watch the blood ooze out,

Watch yourself bleed bright red.

You move down.

To your hips.

See the fat...

Cut once, cut twice.

But you can't look at them any more. You're so fat!

You cry some more,

Wish to starve once more.

That fat, it kills you...

It really does...

You just can't handle anorexia all over again.

Not those arguments,

Not on top of the ones you're already having.

You hate yourself,

You cut yourself.

Relapsing once again.

A dark piece bringing awareness to the hardships of low self-esteem and eating disorders. The imagery is also stunning. This Amazing entry is by Hannah aka Bangaltermanuel. Please leave feedback for this talented poet!
